Naomi’s Fund is about continuing a little girl’s fierce sense of justice and passion for small, loving acts.
NAOMI HARMON-KIRKSEY
February 22, 2002–October 17, 2010
Whether donating to food pantries or offering blankets to unhoused people on the streets of Chicago, Naomi took action to make the world kinder. We, her family, started Naomi’s Fund to keep her legacy alive by helping others to take small, loving steps to spread hope and healing.
A child’s chances of surviving cancer can range from 20-80% depending on where they live.
In high income countries, a child can have an 80% chance or higher of surviving cancer. That number plummets to 20-30% in low to middle income nations. Through our travels in Africa, we learned about opportunities to lessen the suffering of children with cancer for relatively small sums of money.
Naomi’s Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
EIN: 45-1904288
Our operating costs are privately covered. 100% of donations go toward supporting children.
Donations are tax deductible in accordance with laws.
OUR VISION
A world in which every child’s chance of surviving cancer is the same, no matter where they live. Every child receives the care, support, and resources they need to survive, heal, and thrive.
OUR MISSION
To improve quality of life and outcomes for children with cancer by working with international and local partners to remove barriers that create avoidable suffering and reduce care effectiveness.

We’ve created a place of solace & relaxation
We’ve placed benches on the shore of Lake Michigan in Chicago to create a place of solace for families who have lost a child to cancer, and a place of relaxation enjoyed by hikers, bikers, and sunbathers. We extend our gratitude to J. Ira Productions for helping to bring this project to life.

NAOMI’S STORY
At just four years old, Naomi began treatment for cancer. After three years in remission, the disease returned—ten months later, it took her life. Even in her short years, Naomi’s compassion was boundless, as was her love of doing math with Da (her grandfather), playing the violin and doing ballet.
Join us in bringing the benefits of cancer care to kids. No matter where they live.
September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month!
