I’m imagining that all campaign pages will follow the same flow as the Korle Bu Campaign page.

A five-year-old boy was screaming as nurses tried again and again to find a vein. They told him to calm down. His response: ‘If you knew how much this hurt, you wouldn’t think I could calm down.”‘

Children undergoing chemotherapy at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital face repeated and unnecessary trauma. Multiple rounds of intravenous medication, frequent blood draws, and reliance on temporary devices make treatment physically painful and emotionally distressing. Fragile or hard-to-find veins often result in repeated needle sticks, vein damage, and prolonged suffering.

To address this urgent issue, the campaign provided a vein finder, handheld device using infrared light to help clinicians quickly and accurately locate veins. These devices offered immediate relief, delivering:

  • Fewer failed attempts and needle sticks
  • Reduced physical pain and emotional trauma
  • Minimized risk of vein damage
  • A safer, more humane treatment experience

The campaign’s efforts directly improved the chemotherapy experience for children with cancer, supporting both patients and medical staff, and providing a critical step toward more permanent solutions.
